Job Description
The Township of Chapleau is seeking labourers
Rate of Pay $31.54 / hour
Probationary Rate $26.83 to $31.54 / hour based on experience
(1) Full-Time Labourer
(1) Temporary Full-Time Labourer (This position is for a three (3) month contract with a possibility of extension and is within a unionized work environment) to join its Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
Required Skills & Role
Grade 12 diploma or grade 12 equivalent from an accredited Canadian educational institution. (See note below)
Basic/Advanced Level Refrigeration Certificate is an asset (For more information on Refrigeration Certificates, go to the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association website at www.orfa.com).
Knowledge of facility maintenance and ice making and painting practices an asset
Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Minimum “G” license
Janitorial work experiences related to this facility
Hand snow shoveling, snow blowing and snow removal equipment
Experience with landscaping equipment operation and ground maintenance
Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and public relation skills
A team player attitude and the ability to work independently
