Description

Northern Credit Union is a full-service, locally operated financial institution offering personal and commercial banking services along with financial planning expertise to members across our footprint. At Northern, strengthening members and communities through financial care guides every team, every role, and every decision. As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario, we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time Member Associate in our Wawa market.

The Member Associate plays a vital administrative and customer service role within Northern Credit Union’s branch operations. Working closely with the Member Advisors and Market Manager, the Member Associate supports the end-to-end loan process by managing and submitting documentation, maintaining client records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a key liaison between clients and the lending team, helping facilitate smooth and timely loan approvals while delivering a high standard of service. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced branch environment.

Additional responsibilities include opening personal and business accounts, supporting estate administration processes, assisting with online banking services, processing investments and renewals, promoting and supporting Visa sales, responding to member inquiries, managing the branch email inbox and voicemail, and confirming member appointments.

The Member Associate proactively ensures members receive exceptional service by identifying cross-selling opportunities and referring members to the appropriate sales representative, partner, or alternative delivery channel.

This position is also responsible for performing Member Representative duties as required.

Required Skills & Role

Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in business or finance is considered an asset).

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment preferred.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.

  • Basic knowledge of retail loan products and banking procedures.

  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the use of modern office equipment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members and co-workers in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail while working under pressure.
