Job Description
Hourly Rate: $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience
Reports To: Team Lead
Michipicoten Golf Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing meals for members and guests, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and supporting the smooth operation of food service throughout the club, including the restaurant, events, and tournaments.
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
Ensure food is presented and served with attention to detail and quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in daily food preparation, portioning, and inventory control.
Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
Follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards.
Help with banquet or tournament events as needed, including buffets and plated service.
Communicate effectively with the Team Lead or Kitchen Manager on kitchen needs or concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced kitchen environment.
Standing for extended periods.
Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp tools, and various kitchen equipment.
Required Skills & Role
High school diploma or GED required
A certificate or diploma in a related field preferred
Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
Current Smart Serve Certification
Safe Food Handling Certification
Great conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ability to handle large crowd
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management
