Job Description

The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist provides supplemental service support in the areas of conversions, ordering stock, vending solutions, putting orders away, 5S handling of service & equipment, and expediting.

  • Supports MSC customer solutions and sales associates.

  • Understands company solutions, products, and services, including limited technical product knowledge.

  • Supports the implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory programs at customer locations.

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customers.

  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.

  • Unpacks orders, checks accuracy of shipment, and puts stock away at customer locations.

  • Ensures appropriate customer stock levels, generates new orders for merchandise, and obtains customer approval to place orders when required.

  • Provides communication and feedback to the sales representative and supervisor as appropriate to ensure full customer satisfaction.

  • Performs general (5S) housekeeping for service equipment and immediate area.

  • Utilizes company technology to complete daily tasks, including order generation, tracking, and routing.

  • Logs all events daily within the Service Management tool.

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

  • Compensation starting at $36,400 - $57,200 depending on candidate location and experience.

  • The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries and the cost of labor in respective cities.

  • Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements, and peer pay equity.

  • The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.

  • This job posting will remain open for a minimum of 3 business days from the original posting date or longer as needed to fill the position.

Required Skills & Role

Education and experience: 

  • A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required. 

  • Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred. 

  • Customer service experience including one year of related industry experience is preferred. 

Skills: 

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet software is required. 

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required. 

Other requirements: 

  • A valid driver's license is required. 

  • Position requires over 80% consistent daily travel within district. Occasional overnight travel is also required. 

  • May need to lift up to 50 lbs. based on customer needs. 

  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this position at this time.
