The Opportunity
Pioneer Construction is seeking hardworking and dependable individuals to join our Winter
Maintenance Team in the Dubreuilville, Ontario area. We are currently hiring:
General Labourers
Truck Drivers
Heavy Equipment Operators
The initial assignment will support our winter road and site maintenance contract, with work anticipated
from September 2026 through April 2027.
Depending on the position, team members will operate winter maintenance equipment, plow and
maintain roads and work areas, apply de-icing materials, perform manual snow removal and assist other
crew members as required.
Opportunities for continued employment beyond the winter maintenance contract may be available
based on individual performance, operational requirements and the availability of suitable work.
Your Day-to-Day
Clear snow and ice from access roads, driveways, parking lots, walkways, entrances, emergency exits, equipment pads and other work areas
Operate snow-removal equipment such as snowblowers, sweepers, plows and other related
equipment
Operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with plows, sanders and/or water tanks
Safely operate heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, excavators, backhoes and related machinery, as assigned and qualified
Apply salt, sand and other de-icing materials to roads, walkways and work areas
Haul snow to designated disposal areas as required
Monitor weather and site conditions and respond promptly to snow and ice accumulation
Assist equipment operators, skilled labourers and other crew members as required
Complete daily pre-operational and post-operational equipment inspections and attend safety meetings
Clean, lubricate and refuel equipment as required
Safely secure equipment and materials in accordance with applicable Ministry of Transportation requirements
Accurately complete daily logs, timesheets, inspection reports and work orders
Perform general site preparation, clean-up and hazard removal
Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas
Perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching and standing for extended periods
Work outdoors in varying and inclement weather conditions
Work a seven-days-on, seven-days-off schedule, including day and night shifts as required
Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills & Role
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
Valid G class Driver’s License
Valid DZ or AZ driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience
Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, snow removal or road maintenance
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:
Prior experience in the construction industry or snow removal / maintenance industry
Experience operating graders, loaders, excavators, backhoes and/or similar equipment
Surface Miner Common Core
Secondary School diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
Successfully satisfy comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (Drug and
Alcohol testing and Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements that are imposed on contractors)
Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Professional attitude and strong work ethic

This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
