Job Description
Position Overview
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and directing all on-site construction and mining support activities. This includes managing crews, equipment, subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. The role requires strong experience in earthworks, dam/tailings construction, haul road maintenance, and mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily site operations including:
Tailings facility construction (earthworks, embankments, drainage)
Haul road maintenance and mine support work
Material placement, compaction, and grading
Lead and coordinate crews (operators, labourers, truck drivers)
Manage equipment utilization and productivity
Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and QA/QC requirements
Enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies
Coordinate with client representatives, engineers, and survey teams
Monitor production targets, schedules, and reporting
Conduct daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and inspections
Address and resolve site issues in real-time
Required Skills & Role
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in mining or heavy civil construction
Direct experience with tailings dams, earthworks, or large-scale civil projects
Strong knowledge of:
Safe work practices (Ontario mining & construction standards)
Equipment operations and production cycles
Reading drawings and specifications
Valid driver’s licence (AZ/DZ an asset)
Ability to pass drug & alcohol testing
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work rotational shifts in a camp-based environment
Assets (Preferred)
Experience working on active mine sites (gold or similar operations)
Knowledge of compaction standards, material testing, and QA/QC processes
Experience coordinating with survey crews and grade control
Common Core Supervisor or Surface Miner modules
First Aid, WHMIS, and other safety certifications
Work Environment
Active mining and construction site
Remote, camp-based living
12-hour shifts (day/night rotation as required)
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
High-paced, production-driven environment
